Falling film evaporator
This Instrument is ideal to evaporate large quantities of solvent from a solution where the boiling points are far enough apart. . The advantage to this method above the conventional rotovapor is that there is not a concentration build up of the product in the boiling vessel. With a rotovapor the process starts off quickly, but as the volume inside the evaporator flask gets filled more and more with residual product, the extraction of solvent gets slower and slower.
Since you constantly remove both the solvent and product out of the vertical tubes, the process is ideal for continuous solvent removal.
Our systems are run on steam at 100deg C, but can also be run at higher temperatures if a hot oil circulator is used.
The system can run either with, or without vacuum.
